Fairy Wand

This is a little Kontakt library I created for an instrument I discovered at Lark in the Morning, on a trip one day to the Bay Area. The fairy wand is a simple, molded piece of metal, that when hit, lets out a very striking, and colorful tone. A few people have asked me for recordings in the past, so I decided to do a full-on library out of it! It’s recorded in stereo using a pair of condensers in a close-mic’d position. The main patch is fairly streamlined. It’s got one note, but features 15 round-robins, three dynamic layers, mod-wheel support that shifts the instrument to a “vibrato” sound, and a keyswitch for playing the wand “muted.” I also created over 30 “With Effects” patches, that twist the instrument into different, unique sounds, that have a greater keyboard range.
The tones you can get out of it can be great stuff for sound design, ear candy, or quirky score-writing.
Fairy Wand requires the full version of Kontakt 5 or later to utilize, as well as 177MB of disk space.
